Grants Committee
The Grants Committee makes recommendations to the Foundation's Board of Directors on the disbursements for the various funds.
Philosophy and Criteria
Granting Philosophy
- The Foundation supports activities in the area of arts, culture, education, environment, health, recreation and social services in Oxford County.
Granting Criteria
- Organizations must have a registered charitable number or have an established third-party sponsorship agreement with an
organization which does have registered charitable status.
- Grants are considered according to merit in light of the funds available for distribution.
- Grant applications will be accepted only from organizations which are free from discrimination based on age, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, creed, religion or disability.
- Successful applicants will be for activities in Oxford County.
- Grant recipients must agree to provide appropriate recognition to the Foundation.
- Priority will be given to grant applicants who are collaborating with funding partners for the projects submitted.
- Grants are made once a year.
Application and Letter of Intent Deadlines:
- 30th of June at 4:00 p.m - Letter of Intent
- 15th of September at 4:00 p.m - Application Deadline
How to apply
We have a two step application process.
STEP 1 - Letter of Intent
Applicants submit a letter of intent by 4:oo P.M on June 30th (1 page) with the following information:
- Name of Organization, contact person, their position, with phone number, e-mail.
- Your Registered Charitable Number or RCN from a sponsoring partner, who will be the lead applicant.
- What project you are requesting the grant for – (couple of paragraphs)
- What amount you are requesting - $ ? (Grants have ranged between $300 to $1,000)
- Information about your organization. Brief couple paragraph and should be signed by the contact person.
The Letters of Intent are reviewed as they are received and you will be contacted directly. When you are contacted you will be informed if you are being invited to submit a grant application from your organization or whether your submission doesn’t meet the Foundation's criteria.
STEP 2 - Grant Application
Please submit 3 copies of the application for the Grant Committee to review.

Upon receipt of the application, the Foundation may schedule an on-site visit for the review and assessment of the grant application.
Be sure to attach to the Grant Application Form the following:
- Registered Charitable Number
- Current Operating Budget
- Most recent audited ( or unaudited) financial statements
- List of Board of Directors
- Signed application by your Chief Staff Person or Board Chair who will take financial and project responsibility
Acceptance of a grant from OCF requires you publicize the Foundation whenever possible. At the end of the project, you will be expected to submit a formal report.
